Irlen Screening

If you’re considering an Irlen screening assessment for your child, this non-medical, non-invasive procedure—lasting up to 2 hours—involves a thorough evaluation by a myself ( a recognised Irlen Screener)  to determine whether your child has a profile consistent with Irlen Syndrome.

The assessment explores a range of symptoms, distortions, and discomfort related to the condition and , if necessary, advises on the most suitable overlays and other initial accommodations.  A detailed report is produced outlining the findings and suggestions for next steps. This assessment can be a valuable first step in supporting your child’s learning and visual comfort

The assessment is designed to identify indicators of Irlen Syndrome (visual stress), but it is not a medical or clinical diagnosis.

  • 2 hour assessment and detailed report, including overlays where necessary

  • Total cost £125

From a parent who went on to source the Irlen Spectral Filter lenses - Sept 2025

L  has his colour glasses and with regular reminders to wear them is doing amazing! When he first got them he spent the whole hour long car journey looking out the window in amazement. (He usually has his head down and hood up).

When we got home we revisited our book that I've been reading to him and I asked him to take a turn at reading. He read so beautifully and at natural speed, I cried. I cant wait for you to see the difference in him.

When I get chance I will also send you some pictures of his handwriting before and after the glasses. The difference is amazing.

I want to extend my sincere thanks to Katie for the incredible support she provided during my son’s recent Irlen screening. For years, my son has faced many challenges in school — struggling to keep up with his work and often falling behind despite his best efforts. It’s been a difficult journey watching him face these obstacles, and as a parent, I’ve always hoped to find the right support to help him thrive.

The school’s SENCO first suggested that my son might be showing signs of Irlen Syndrome and highly recommended Katie for a screening. From the moment I reached out, Katie was quick to respond and efficient in arranging an appointment, which made the process so much easier and less stressful for us both.

Katie’s understanding and supportive approach, especially in relation to my son’s autism, made a huge difference. She was incredibly patient with him throughout the screening, always allowing him plenty of time to process what was being asked and giving breaks whenever he needed them. Her calm, compassionate manner helped put him at ease — something that can be quite rare in new or unfamiliar settings for him.

What truly stood out was how thorough and knowledgeable Katie was. She explained everything clearly and in detail, helping me understand not just the screening itself but also the steps we can take going forward. I left the session feeling genuinely confident and hopeful that we’re finally moving in the right direction, and that we’ll begin to see positive changes in my son’s learning and confidence.

I’m so grateful for Katie’s professionalism, empathy, and dedication. I would absolutely recommend her to any parent seeking answers or support for their child — especially those whose children may have additional needs. This experience has been a turning point for us, and I can’t thank her enough.
